  8. Thank you for expressing interest in carrying AmiNet, the AMIGA SPECIFIC
  9. Network.  Currently we are only a small band of BBS's that are looking for
  10. more Nodes and HUBS.

  12. AmiNet was launched on April 13, 1992 by me with the help of Lyle Giese.
  13.  
  14. The National Hub of operations is NezulD's DomaiN BBS, located, centrally,
  15. in Northbrook, IL (Suburb of Chicago.)  The phone numbers are 1-708-559-0513
  16. and 1-708-559-0514, They support 300-19200 HST connections.  There are 4
  17. Lines currently and will ring to any open modem.

  19. The voice number for this BBS is 1-708-559-0084, there is an answering
  20. machine ready to take your message if no one is available when you call.
  21.  
  22. If you decide to log on to the system, leave a Comment to the SYSOP of your
  23. intentions along with your voice and data numbers, providing you did not
  24. leave them during your registration.  Also please state which conferences you
  25. wish to carry and echo.

  27. The purpose of this network is to bring information and better understanding
  28. of the Amiga Computer.  I hope that it will serve as a platform to give and
  29. receive advice and comments on current software/hardware/and programming.

  31. How does it work:

  33. Currently we are offering QWK mail support and PCRelay mail support.  Not
  34. all HUBS will be carrying all mail supports.

  36. If you have any problems connecting to the network, we will try to be of
  37. some assistance, but the ultimate responsibility is on your shoulders to
  38. get your setup working, we cannot know EVERYTHING.

  57. new network, I do not want to carry useless conferences.  When a conference
  58. becomes sufficently busy, or starts to take on a strong theme, we will assign
  59. a new conference to it or rename that conference.  I will entertain any
  60. suggestions in the Administration Conference.

  107.                 toward which I will make a seperate conference.

  138. PCRELAY Tranfers can be accompished here at NezulD's Domain by the following:

  140. If you already have PCRELAY software set up, you should make another sub-
  141. directory, for example-
  142.                                   c:\aminet
  143. copy your existing PCRELAY software to this subdirectory, overwrite your net.id
  144. file with the one that I provided and also the conflst.rly file also available
  145. in this packet.   Next you run Config and set up your information (we use zip)
  146. and your work directories, and the conferences you wish to take, just like you
  147. did with RIME.  Now you call my BBS and log in.  Leave me a note that you wish
  148. to participate in AMINET, I will give you clearance to use door 14.  Once you
  149. have clearance, you place a message in each of the conferences that you intend
  150. to echo, then run export.  Call my BBS and enter door 14, there are
  151. multiple nodes so you will probably be able to get in most times, at least
  152. for now.  Upload your *.rly file, and you will first get back an empty file.
  153. This process will now have you auto-registered in the hub door, from then on
  154. any mail that you tranfer will be processed just like any other net.  And you
  155. are then a member of AMINET!

  159. .QWK transfers
  160.  
  161. You can receive .QWK packets from my mail door (MarkMail)  You would need to
  162. also run a program that would import those packeted messages into your BBS
  163. system.  On a PC it would be something like RNET.  Primarily it would work a
  164. lot like an offline mail reader.  You compile and compress your messages,
  165. upload them and download and insert your new net messages.
